Apeps Entwine
Drawing from Apep, the ancient Egyptian embodiment of chaos, Apep’s Entwine Bed reconceives the primordial serpent as monumental ceremonial architecture. Intertwined bronze forms coil and converge to define the bed’s structure, their tensioned bodies articulated through sinuous curves, overlapping scales, and flared hoods. Cast using the lost-wax technique and finished in deep matte gunmetal, the surface is punctuated by restrained 18K gold PVD accents at the eyes, fangs, and hoods. Both protective and confrontational, the work positions rest within a charged sculptural embrace—an heirloom-scale object where mythic conflict is rendered as controlled luxury.
